Pottery Barn Kids Room Makeover

In my last post I mentioned my friend Jill helped with my son's room makeover.  My son is a Spiderman fan and we saw the pattern in Pottery Barn Kids (PBK) and he had to have it.  So, with some help from Jill, I put the room together with furniture I had and a lot of different pieces from PBK.  I think it turned out great.

I purchased the duvet/sheets, curtains/curtain rod, lamp, rug, round chair & pictures from PBK.  I purchased the cubby unit and bins from Target.  The toy box came from Walmart online which I am very pleased with how it turned out.  I was not very happy with the stuffed animals on top of the cubby bins so I had my husband build and paint some coordinating frameless floating shelves.  We have collected the Disney and Universal characters over the years and I think this is a cute way of displaying them.  Hubby did a great job!

Since I purchased the shelves, I found these adorable bookends from PBK to go on top of the cubby unit.  "A" to "Z", you can see them in the background of the picture below I posted from Valentine's.

At one of Jill's suggestion, I had the initial pillow made from an Etsy store.  She was right in that it pops out from the dark bedding.

When we started, he had a Thomas the Train themed room which was very cute but he had outgrown it.  I think this room will grow with him well into his pre-teen years.  I am pleased with not only the appearance of the Pottery Barn Kid's products but also their quality.
