Beautiful Baby Girl's Nursery

My friend Jill is welcoming her sweet baby girl into the world tomorrow morning.  She has created the most beautiful baby girl nursery I have ever seen.  Jill gave me permission to share her gorgeous work with the blog world.  In my opinion, she has a second calling to be an interior designer.  She helped me with my son's room and I will share that on my next post.  Enjoy the pictures and imagine what a lucky little girl she is to be coming home to this beautiful room and loving family.

Love, love, love the chandelier and her flower wreath over the crib!

The details are never forgotten.  Look at the sign in the closet, "I love you to the moon and back".  How sweet is that?

I can't wait to meet this precious bundle.  I know she is going to be sweet and gorgeous.

Prayers are with you and the family tomorrow, Jill and thank you for the lovely, beautiful pictures.

Cat in the Tree Top

My son casually walked in from a run and said "Mom, the cat is in the tree".  So I thought oh well she can't be in harm because he didn't sound alarmed when he said it.  When I walked outside to check on her I was shocked to see what she had managed to do.

This is our cat Clarice.  Excuse the blurry picture she is still in a kitten stage and doesn't want to be still.  She is solid black and cute as a button.

Miss Clarice had managed to climb to the top of one of the tallest trees in our yard.   She was steadily crying for help.  I walked to the base of the tree and called her name and she tried to walk down the tree but instead she became disoriented and would walk down and then up another limb.  She was stuck!  We put food at the bottom hoping that would lead her down but she was scared to death.  She cried and cried.  I called the local fire department and they said they would not help us due to insurance purposes.  Our only option was to get her down ourselves or to pray she came down on her own.

There was no way she was coming down because she was so high she didn't know which way down was.  My cousin called the vet and he suggested we string up a basket to assist her down but as you can see she was WAY up too high for that.  Finally, my husband got a long ladder and stretched it as far as he could and climbed up as high as possible.  When Clarice saw him she started to climb down towards him.  He stood on the ladder and waited for her to climb down to him and then grabbed her and carried her the rest of the way down the ladder.  I honestly do not know if she could have figured it out on her own.  With her being a kitten and not a grown cat and the wind blowing so cold and strong, I think she was too confused and scared.  I hope she learned a lesson and doesn't go up that high again!

Cute Kids Valentine's Pajamas

I love cute pajamas (pjs) and I was shopping in Gymboree returning some Christmas items that didn't fit for my son and I saw these Valentine's pjs.  Jake is 8 and I know I don't have many more years he will be willing to wear these cute ones so I bought them.  One thing to know about Jake is he wears pjs more than regular clothes.  He loves his pjs.

This set says "I only have EYES for you" and there is a 3 eyed monster on the side---too cute.

This set says "The Ladies Love Me".  It has sharks and hearts all over the pants.  Again, too cute.

Happy Early Valentine's Day!!!

Baby It Has Been Cold Outside in MS!

The hubby was home from work for 2 days and the kids were out of school for 3 days because baby it's cold outside.  We were "snowed in" as we like to call it in our neck of the woods.   I think if some of our neighbors up North or Midwest saw what we were calling snowed in they would laugh.  What can we do though?  We aren't prepared for this kind of weather.  We don't have equipment to clear the roads, salt to spread on the roads to help with deicing, so we just wait until the freeze passes.

The picture below was the most snow our yard has accumulated since we have lived here.  Look at that massive snow pile on the edge of the porch...ha ha.

So we sat inside for 3 days snuggling up by the fire.  We watched movies, played games and went a little stir crazy.....

And then there was the hubby and I were snuggled up watching some Duck Dynasty, Jake came in and stood by the post of the bed and said, "Captain, I think I see an island."  I looked at my hubby and I said I think we need to get out of the house.  Is this what cabin fever looks like?  lol....

To top it all off right before the ice decided to leave us.  I got the bright idea to go check on the hubby in his shop wearing my flip flops.  Well I know now they would work great as skis because I slid into a perfect split from my High School days.  I am still sore as I write this and with a swollen wrist.  Live and learn.  Us southern folks are not built for this weather and it needs to go back where it came from for sure!
