Halloween and Fall Decorating Part 2

I am finally finished putting out all of my Halloween and Fall decorations.  I shared my mantle decor previously but I have added pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins....

I have a collage of various decorations throughout the house.  Most of these I have owned for years and collected at various stores.  The pumpkin in the bottom right I bought from Hobby Lobby last year.  Jake made the card board monster from a kit at a local toy store.

I think these small harvest wreaths are adorable.  I have them hanging around the entertainment center and on the mantle.

Below is my breakfast area, a pumpkin candle hubby bought me, William Sonoma candy and a mummy kitchen towel.

Hope you enjoyed and Happy Halloween!

Halloween and Fall Decorating

I am well on my way to decorating my house for Halloween and Fall but I am not finished yet.  My candy corn decoration came in this week from The Paisley Petal Vegas.  I ordered it through Etsy and I am thrilled with how it turned out.  I think it is adorable.  My last name is under the candy swirls.

I ordered this pumpkin picture from Walmart of all places.  I found it online and they personalized it for free.  It has our last name under the leaf.

I ordered this spooky banner from Being A Creative Mom on Etsy.  I love it.  It is the perfect size banner to go on my fireplace mantle.  Each pendant is stamped and made from burlap.  I think it looks awesome.

I went shopping yesterday at two of my favorite stores.  Williams Sonoma had this lovely Thanksgiving place setting on display.  I especially love the copper charger, napkin ring and pumpkin bowl.

At Pottery Barn they had a beautiful display of pumpkins and owls and a Halloween skeleton that needed to close its'  I love the fall colors.  I definitely want one of those owls.  That could be used not only for Halloween but throughout the fall season.  I love their mercury glass pumpkins also.

As I decorate more I will post pictures and share.

Thanks for stopping by and come back soon,

It's my Birthday Party, 42

I recently celebrated my 42nd birthday.  I am happy to be another year older.  I am not like some people who dread their birthdays.  To me it is much better than the alternative.  I have two young children to raise and a lot of things left to do.  I welcome every birthday.

My Momma brought me these gorgeous flowers.

Hubby bought me a Bird of Paradise candle and some Burberry perfume.  I had never smelled either of these before.  I really like the candle and the perfume has grown on me.

For my party, Derek surprised me by making my cake.  He made it entirely from scratch.  Yes, I said from scratch---cake mix and icing.  I was totally shocked at how cute it turned out.  I think he did a pretty good job considering it was the first time he has ever baked a birthday cake.  It tasted good also.  He gets an A+ in my book.

Several of my family came over to celebrate with me.  We ate pizza and watched the Breaking Bad penultimate episode.  I enjoyed myself thoroughly.  I do realize I am getting older because most of my cards had cows, cats, cake or old fat women on  Hey, at least I still received presents.  Can't beat that!

Alabama Football & Flip Flops

This weekend we (Alabama) played Colorado State.  The final score was 6-31, Alabama.  The word on the street had predicted a win with a larger spread.  We should have slammed Colorado and won by at least 40 points.  I hope we aren't getting too big for our britches as we say in the South.  We all know, a big part of the game is mental and all about attitude.  In the end, if we start losing I will still be a supporter and fan.  You can't always be a winner but it sure does feel good when it's happening.

I have been looking for some Alabama decorations to hang on the brick columns entering our drive way.  I found these flip flops on Etsy from Everything Whimsical2.  If you want some you can order them here.  I absolutely love them and the lady I worked with, Gina, is extremely nice and has been great.  I recommend this site 100%.

Throwback Tuesday:
I found this picture from last year.  This is me and one of my friends, Deanna, acting silly in a store covered in Alabama garb.  We could not get over how much Alabama stuff they had.  Check out my rings.  No, we did not purchase any of it but it sure was tempting.

Later and Roll Tide Roll,

Five on Friday

Joining up with the ladies over at:

a. liz adventures
carolina charm
hello happiness &
the good life blog

for the Five on Friday blog hop.  Okay, here we go......five things off the top of my head!

1.  I am thrilled Jake's costume came in from Chasing Fireflies.  We LOVE it.  It is so authentic.  We can not wait to go trick or treating at Disney World.  Look at his little name on it, awe.  The other side says US ARMY.  Isn't that sweet?  If you would like to purchase this costume, you can buy it here.

2.  Our Disney MagicBands came in today.  As always in true Disney style, they are awesome.  I am amazed at how they were packaged.  We were able to customize the colors so we can keep them separated.  One guess which one is mine.

3.  Last weekend was hubby's birthday.  These are the best pictures I could capture.  They are all camera hogs and love to smile so much I could not contain their excitement---NOT.  My 7 year old is the only one remotely interested in taking a picture.  It is painfully obvious in these shots.

4.  My nieces received their Vera Bradley I purchased for them.  My sister-in-law sent me these pictures.  Riley, precious little blond, loves purses.  I had to buy her the cutest VB bag in her size.  Avery, the baby, is adorable in this VB outfit.  I also purchased her the matching blanket.  They are both dolls.  I got my SIL the matching color block bag to use as a small diaper bag.  She loved everything.  Click on the links if you would like to purchase these items.

5.  My eyeballs came in from Williams Sonoma.  The kids have hit them pretty hard.  They don't stand a chance of making it until Halloween.  I must say I have had one or two myself.  Time for another order.

Boo to You

I could not wait any longer.  I had to get out some Halloween decorations.  I purchased these from Grandin Road about 5 years ago.  All of the pumpkins still work and with the exception of replacing the lights on the Boo! it works fine.  The sign is large and is easily seen from the highway.  The exclamation mark over the years has sort of turned into an "l" but hey I think it is still cute.  Any ideas on how I can better separate those lights to emphasize it is an "!" and not an "l" would be appreciated.

I think I need the Sleepy Hollow Spooky Tree from Grandin Road to complete the scene.  I have been waiting for a sale to buy this baby up.  It is currently $199.  A little too pricey for me.

Last but not least, my 7 year old made this Halloween sign and asked me to post it on my blog.  He says Happy Halloween to all the readers/southern belles!!  He said to call y'all southern belles...  He said I was famous and I needed to call my followers something besides readers (like Lady Gaga calls her followers Little Monsters).  He is hilarious and way too kind to me.  He is my biggest fan.

He also wanted me to advertise his YouTube channel.  He plays all sorts of games.  Check out his channel.  He is something  If I remember correctly, one of his last posts is me playing him in Minecraft.  Not my thing.  I am more of a Call of Duty gal.

Roll Tide Roll

All I have to say is Roll Tide Roll.  What a good game and we won!  Proud to be Alabama Alumni.  My niece was so cute yesterday.  She had fun watching the game also.

At one point she had a gun in one hand and a pom pom in the other.....I said watch out Texas.  Lol.

Till the next game Rammer Jammer, Yellowhammer...

Five on Friday--First EVER

Here goes my first five on Friday.  I am joining in on the blog hop!!!

1.  My favorite body wash and lotion right now is by Origins.  Both of them smell like lavender and vanilla mixed.  The lotion is a souffle.  It is light enough not to leave you greasy and all I can say is you smell heavenly.  My only complaint is the packaging for the body wash.  I wish it had a squeeze lid or something other than a twist top.  Other than that it is a must buy if you like those smells.

2.  I became obsessed with the Million Second Quiz this week and am qualified for the show.  I have the pictures to prove it.  I am too chicken to move forward with going on TV.  Did anyone else get to this stage?  Maybe this time next year I will be saying should of, would of or could of....

3.  My son was in need of some soccer clothes for practice.  I took advantage of the free shipping Under Armour offered during labor day and ordered this cute outfit.  The pictures on the left don't give the colors justice so I took some more pictures to show it is the hunter orange and the bright blue combination.  Too cute!

4.  Jake has a project due at school to select his favorite season and he chose fall.  Mainly because it contains his birthday but also because we go to Disney World and trick-or-treat every year.  We made the poster together.  Don't forget about Thanksgiving.  Lots to love about fall.

5.  My initial necklace came in and I love it.  I ordered it at a local boutique store, Zeal.  It was only $14.00!  Whoop whoop.

Saturday we celebrate my husbands birthday.  He will be 21, um typo 41.  Off to preparing for that!

Pottery Barn Gift Card Surprise

A couple of months back I was sorting through the mail and I opened a letter from my husbands work.  Inside the letter was a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn.  I was shocked.  I questioned my husband and he said he got it for me.  He knew I loved that store so instead of selecting another store (Lowe's, Home Depot, Bass Pro Shops etc...) he went with my favorite so I could buy something for myself.  How sweet is that?  He had received the reward as an absentee bonus.  Where he works if you do not miss work or come in late you get a small bonus each year and he gave his to me, awe.....

I will share with you what I purchased with the gift card.  If you have ever shopped at Pottery Barn you know $100 will not go far; however, I was in luck the weekend I went shopping because they had their flowers 20 or 30% off (can't remember).  I also had a 20% discount coupon they had sent me in the mail so I stretched the money as far as I could.  I purchased some umbrella lights and a flower arrangement in a glass container.  I also purchased some flowers to place in another pottery barn vase I have on my kitchen table.  These flowers are pricey but they look so realistic.  I have a black thumb so this is the best I can do for flowers in my house.

I enjoy these items and smile every time I look at them because it reminds me my hubby thought about me that day.

Soccer Sweets and Disney Surprise

I have always admired moms that brought cute homemade treat bags to school functions for all the kids to enjoy and hoped of doing that one day myself.  That time was today.  When I was working outside the home, I never had the energy or time to perform such a task.  However, now with me being home I try to take advantage of doing things like this as much as possible.  I made some treat bags full of sweets for Jake's soccer team to enjoy after their practice on Friday.  You can see the arrangement of candy I added to each bag.  I think the kids will be pleased.  I am not sure about the parents...LoL but it will be a Friday night.

I used Halloween bags since it is just around the corner, plus I thought they were cute.

Someone gave me this Southern Belle carry bag and it holds them perfectly.  I am excited to give them to the kids and I hope they enjoy them.

On another note, we found out this week we will be going to Disney World again this year for Halloween.  It is an annual tradition for us to trick-or-treat at the Not So Scary Halloween party.  Here are some pictures from last year.  The first picture is Jake trying not to smile on the Tea cups--the no smiling on the Tea cup rule is next to impossible to follow.

We can not wait to see Mickey Mouse again.  43 day count down begins!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Football Time

As if I don't have enough to worry about, I turn on Good Morning America last week and there is Dr. Richard Besser advising parents to have their kids pick another sport instead of football.  This is the first year our oldest son Joel is going to play in school.  His first game is on the heels of the announcement that the NFL is set to pay more than 750 million to retired players with dementia or other concussion related health problems.   I was already paranoid and worried about him playing but this amplifies my concern. To top it all off his position is linebacker.  The purpose of his position is to guess what?----TACKLE.  Maybe I am being an over concerned parent.  After all, how many kids play football in this country every year without injury?  Also, my son is not a small boned child for his age.  What we did to help protect him is purchase a very safe helmet.  My husband researched to find the best one available within a reasonable price.  I had no idea that a helmet could cost so much.  The one we purchased was not inexpensive but I pray it keeps him safe.  At least it makes me feel better while he is out on the field.  I am not fond of his decision to play football but I am going to support him in whatever he wants to do within reason of course.  I prefer baseball myself although it can also be dangerous.  They were talking about the pitchers being hit in the head with baseballs a couple of months ago on GMA.

I went on Joel's Instagram and grabbed these pictures of his helmet and his selfie...ha.  I also have a photo from the morning of his first game and a couple of game shots from that evening.  He is #30!  Please pray for success and safety throughout this season.  Thank you, Jo.
